In April 1775, a single shot in North America marked a global pivot. At the time, the British Army, with a strength of 45,000 globally, had 8,500 in the Americas. The war's intensity saw significant casualties early on. By the time of Cornwallis' Yorktown surrender, the army had evolved with thousands in artillery, infantry, and cavalry units. Explore our authentic and stylish range if you're seeking a costume that captures this pivotal era's essence. Dive into history with us.
Red Coat or Lobster Back are often used to refer to a soldier of the historical British Army because of the color of the military uniforms formerly worn by most regiments. The uniform of most British soldiers from the late 17th century to the 19th century included a madder red coat or coated.
