While Dracula remains a legendary figure in vampire lore, he wasn't the first of his kind to grip audiences. In 1816, a character named Lord Ruthven emerged as a sensation.
While initially portrayed as a human representation of the renowned Lord Byron in Lady Caroline Lamb's novel "Glenarvon," Lord Ruthven's identity underwent a dark transformation. Later that same year, in Dr. John William Polidori's short story "The Vampire," he was reborn as a sinister vampire, cementing his place in dark literary folklore.
Our 19th-century costume captures the essence of Victorian-era vampires, echoing the dark allure of figures like Lord Ruthven. Costume is excellent! Exceeded expectations, except the glasses didn’t have nose rests and fit very oddly, so we purchased a pair separately. We accidentally received the incorrect style of shirt, and the seller was incredibly quick to send out the correct shirt — same day! Hat is particularly high quality, I strongly suggest the larger size hat if you are planning to wear a wig underneath. Paying extra for the accessories was worth it!
